Something of note from that article. A reminder to anyone thinking otherwise, that even GE/CFM are not immune from durability issues on their new engines. Of course, for some reason it doesn't receive as much press attention as the others.

let's hope PW actually fix it It's fixed, the remaining issue is to retrofit all aircraft concerned with a flawless seal. This takes time, especially since whenever possible they make the change during scheduled maintenance. So, it's a matter of 'when', not 'if'.

I guess I misread the article I thought they are going to fix all the durability issue all at once ..... oh well ..... it seems that operators will need to do frequent inspections for more years to come

From this quote... ...am I correct in saying that this is not design flaw with the part concerned but a procedural error in the installation process that led to the premature corrosion problem?

Good find. I think abrasion would be the right word here instead of corrosion.
