I speculate that incident should be the one GoAir's VT-WGB incident on 8 Feb 2017, which is first having an "low oil pressure indication" and then by "metal chip detection warning". Other than that, AFAIK there is no other serious case that has similar 'symptom'.

You may be right, but we don't know enough to be sure.

That's a metal chip warning. Likely again in the number #3 bearing like 28 times before. Does it makes sense to comment any poor written article. 42 engine changes in less than a year for less than 100 engines in service, I guess we have to expect a "news" every 1-2 weeks. None off them will have the quality of the summary already posted here.

Leahy also mentioned there is no issue with the gear box, that's a really good news

Leahy also mentioned there is no issue with the gear box, that's a really good news From what I understand, there was a misunderstanding regardind the A320neo 'gearbox' failure case. Actually, there was no case of fan drive gear system failure. What failed in the incident mentioned by Flightglobal is the 'accessory gearbox', a common source of failures on all engines, which has nothing to do with the GTF innovative features. The name can create confusion when P&W's fan drive gear system is often called a gearbox.

Quite confusing to call the "accessory gearbox" than "main gearbox" if there is really a MAIN gearbox, but FG confirms it wit an extra update
