I've just had a look at some FR24 data on Indigo A320neo flights and I've yet to find one cruising above FL300 in recent days so there appears to be some truth behind the livemint article. I saw on FR24 that Spirit A320neo's were applying that same FL300 limitation. e.g. www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n902nk/#cdd8e56Seems that the glitch is not limited to India...

Interesting details. I still don't get how all this could be missed during flight test and certification? It's a new technology so to me there is no shame if things have some teething troubles in the beginning. But playing more open would have been helpful. Akbar Al Baker doesn't look so rude anymore after all.

Interesting details. I still don't get how all this could be missed during flight test and certification? Simple because you need mass data! One a/c in service has 2000-3000 cycles and 2000-4000 hours per year. Even if a realibility issue was seen (there were seceral seen and fixed), it takes time to fix and verify.

But at least the Qatar CEO could see enough early to delay and then cancel his A320neos. (Switching his order to CFM A321neos instead).

Thank you for the link, jkkw ! It's very informative. The figures explain why the customers remain quiet about the P&W issues: "while there have been some high-profile operational issues—in particular related to Pratt’s geared turbofan engine (GTF)—those have not had a massive detrimental effect on overall dispatch reliability, which is now at 99.6%, against a target of 99.7%".
I was not aware of the number of steps P&W had to take to solve the engine cooling issue, each of them yielding some improvement.
Another important single piece of information is that the CFM engine is exceeding fuel burn promises, which keeps the balance between both manufacturers.

So there would be a reduction of about 25 deliveries this year. Translated by Google.
