Only 237 "ceo's" left on order, the end is near for the "classic". Your use of the word "classic" is quite appropriate. I guess after the end of the production run, ceos can be considered the Classic Engine Option as the term "current" will no longer apply. As to your question about when the last ceo will be delivered, it is kind of tricky. Airbus may well build the last one on schedule, but delivery may or may not follow immediately. There are also some doubtful orders in there. I believe when Airbus shut down the A340 line, they had some undelivered inventory for a while. That may or may not happen here. But just for the fun of it, I'll put the last delivery sometime in 2020.

When Delta places their latest A321 order 1,5 year ago, the plan was to receive the last aircraft in 2021. So unless they have changed the delivery schedule since then production will at least run into 2021

Delivery timeline may be quite different from production timeline. Production may stop in 2020 (as I believe was tentatively suggested), even though a few deliveries may still be in store for 2021.

There is really no reason for that, unless an airline does not take a frame on the agreed upon time. There is no problem for the final production lines to take one off ceo, or perhaps now classic, once in a while. Having ceos standing around waiting for delivery only provides additional cost.

the CEO Production/Delivery will definitely slow down by the end of 2019 but I can easily see a few Production/Delivery happening in 2020 and even maybe 2021.
Remember we are still seeing the occasional CEO non-sharklet production happening in 2018.
