Been looking again at the end of A330-200 production as a passenger frame. Latest Airbus figures show 31 unfilled orders but 16 of these are for conversion to MRTTs. A further 13 will not be built, 8 for Iran and 5 for Jet. If these orders get revived they will surely be converted to other models. The remaining 2 and last for airline use, are for IAG ( LEVEL ? ) and have MSNs assigned 1932 and 1936.
The A330-300 situation is less clear due to the complications of what actually gets delivered in Hong Kong and mainline China but I expect not all the remaining 23 orders will be built.

Geoff My understanding is that within CASC's order with Airbus, CASC is free to swap between A332 and A333, and this has happened before. So we could see some of the A333 order been converted and delivered as A332.

But compared to -200, -300 is so much more suitable to Chinese carriers with its ability to switch between international long-haul and domestic trunk routes. Hence we see Chinese carriers mainly taking -300s in recent years.

According to this source aibfamily.flights/production-list/A330/0,100 there are 10 A330-300s in the production list that are undelivered ; 7 are for Hong Kong Airlines. Are any of these contractually delivered, I think 2 are but not to HX ? Presumably a risk that some will not be taken up. 1 is for SAS 2 are for mainline China ( Lucky and Sichuan one each ) Totalling 8 of the 23 total outstanding orders. That makes 15 others in the Airbus totals for which we don’t have MSNs. 6 are shown as CASC , plus 2 with MSNs assigned (?) 1 for Egyptair 3 for Hong Kong Airlines , plus 7 with MSNs assigned (?) 5 for Unidentified A bit messy and hard to tell how many, if any, new MSNs will be assigned. I thought those two will be from retired China Eastern Airlines A333 fleet. Was thinking about the same thing as they already took a couple from MU.
