Could you please make a citation of the section in text to support your comment? I have some issues to find it.

The problem lies with the shaky financial situation of the HNA group. In that context, news that some legal infighting is taking place can easily start all kinds of rumours. I don't know whether HNA's aviation assets - probably the soundest part of its business - are for sale or not, as the Chinese and Honk-Kong governments probably have strong views on their future. I don't believe, however, that any HNA airline may collapse on its own. The airlines will be either sold or preserved. We had a clear illustration when selective funding was provided in December for A330 deliveries. The A350 order is part of that wider scheme. We don't know the interactions that are taking place between the parties, and it's premature to call that order dead. Of course, authorities might wish to rein in company expansion, making the A350 a collateral victim, or some other situation is about to unfold this year ...

[Romour] A white knight has already appeared, however, HNA wants to squeeze the most out of HX, so the transaction is still under negotiation......
If the transaction is finished, I believe HX will take all A350 and A330 from Airbus
Hints: White knight has 6 A350 as well.

The rumour of CA buying HX appeared earlier than the HX bankruptcy story, and CA denied any negotiation has happened.
CA has 20% share exchange holding with CX over ten years, for them to buy HX - the challenger to CX, if this actually happens, this story will be dramatic. The purpose of such purchase would to destroy HX, not taking all A350 & A330 to compete with CX.
CZ has just quit SkyTeam and rumoured to join OneWorld very soon, over the years CX has blocked CZ to join OneWorld, to avoid them directly competing with CX - Guangzhou and Hong Kong are just too close. Will they allow CA to buy HX and build it up for competing with CX? I don't think so.

But then, they don't even have the cash to buy their own A350's at this time. And then there is ALC, they also have 6. I can see Udvar-Házy pull it off

I stated above that the airlines are not collapsing. They will be kept afloat, whatever happens to the group as a whole. Whether they can take all the aircraft they ordered is another question.

Remember one thing: It may be not a feasible commercial decision but it may under the direction of central government. Control an airline can be a way to tighter control Hong Kong as well.
