"New A350-1000 operator on the horizon"

"New A350-1000 operator on the horizon" Hopefully this is not a replacement for the A380 Deal!! I do believe to be exactly that. Still it is better than simple cancel. Probably the prepayment is transferred and everyone is happy. Virgin under DELTA would never took those 380s.

Virgin under DELTA would never took those 380s. Virgin is not 'under Delta'. DL is a minority shareholder in Virgin, it has no management role and, if it appeared to actually have, it would be a breach of European rules, which would kindle legal actions against the company.

DL is a minority shareholder in Virgin, it has no management role and, if it appeared to actually have, it would be a breach of European rules, which would kindle legal actions against the company. Strictly speaking of course correct - however - as stated by many analysts - when DELTA takes stake in a company they actively influence it i.e. provide their management know how.... - so as they do not believe that A380 is good for Virgin they will say it very "loud" and believe me the other shareholders will listen to that voice. Specifically here they hold 49% i..e the maximum possible. And we know (we are not sure in this case - just my speculation) that very often the minority shareholder is given more/less power to influence the company more/less so than his share is by some special agreement. As is the well documented case with shareholders in CSA (Korean, Travel Service, Czech state) and I am sure there is more.
