I always thought that EK had plenty of time to do this order.
DXB is becoming saturated and EK will soon only be able to add capacity (hence the A380/B777 fleet). T.Clark said that the move to DWC is planned for 2025, at the earliest, which means that EK can't have any smaller plane than the 77L/77W before that date.
